Dear all,
a Zoom meeting would be very helpful to discuss the future of the AIW. I suggest to have a meeting of the AIW committee only as a first step. We are here in Europe and we have to find our fist what options we have here and which formats are available to us. We are 12 members on the AIW committee and I think these are enough participants for an initial meeting. Not to forget the time lap when we invite people from other continents.
In a second step we could discuss our options with AIW members, but then we have to be careful whom we invite for further talks. We have members from all continents, North Americans making about ¼ of our membership. We also have members in Arabia, Asia, Australia/New Zealand/Oceania whom we cannot ignore - among them indigenous people like Maori. Therefore we should find formats that serve all our members.
I will be available most of the time, but I have to finalize a book publication until end of September.
Best, Renate
P.S.: There is a special AIW mailing list for the committee including all committee members: committee@list.american-indian-workshop.org mailto:committee@list.american-indian-workshop.org

Dear AIW committee members,
I hope you are all doing well. I apologize for this step without former discussion. But I was thinking about the AIW today and thought we should take steps to look into the future. After the workshop had to be postponed this year and we do not know how the panemic will develop, I would be happy, if we could meet in a Zoom meeting to talk about the plannings for the AIW. This is also true as we had no chance to have a committee meeting in Munich. It would also be good to send out information afterwards to tell the AIW members that the AIW is still alive. What do you think?
If you are interested I will create a doodle to find a date and I will organize the Zoom conference. Please let me know until July 31.
We can also think about additional colleagues from North America, who are frequently at the AIW, e.g. Rob Collins, to join if you think it is helpful.
I hope to hear from you and to see you soon!
Markus
PS: Please forward this mail if I forgot any committee member.
